A Beautiful Life....

This got me through today... Read it before I set out to "deal" with my day.

-------------------------------------------------------------
A Beautiful Life......

Love yourself.

MAKE PEACE with who you are

and where you are

at this moment in time.

Listen to your heart,

If you can't hear what it's saying in this noisy world.

MAKE TIME for yourself.

Enjoy your own company.

Let your mind wander among the stars.

Try.

Take chances.

MAKE MISTAKES.

Life can be messy

and confusing at times,

but it's also full of surprises.

The next rock in your path might be a stepping stone.

Be happy.

When you don't have what you want. Want what you have.

MAKE DO.

That's a well kept secret of contentment.

There aren't any shortcuts to tomorrow. You have to MAKE YOUR OWN WAY.

To know where you're going is only part of it.

You need to know where you've been, too.

And if you ever get lost, don't worry.

The people who love you will find you. Count on it.

Life isn't days and years.

It's what you do with time

and with all the goodness and grace that's inside you.

MAKE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.....The kind of life you deserve.

This was my birthday card from my parents, I keep it in a special place and read it when I need an emotional boost. Today was one of those days. Thanks mom and dad.

On top of the world....

She named this picture "on top of the world, looking down on creation". As you can probably tell, most of her pictures are named after a song. She's a music trivia buff.

It seems like since I've been back i'll look at all of my pictures and think to myself "wow it almost seems like I wasn't even there" which is sad, but I know and my family knows I was there. ha! So as I look at this picture I'm thinking we were on our way up to Table Top Mountain via The Cable Car. It was a pretty nice, windy ride up there, the bottom of the floor even rotated so that everyone could get a view all around them.

Robben Island

No, the first picture is not Robben Island. HA!!!

Due to bad weather and high seas, they did not make it to Robbin Island. Her big disappointment of the trip. But, nevertheless she did get a cool aerial shot of the actual island.

Creatures of the night...

These creepee's are called fruit bats, or flying foxes because their faces resemble that of a fox. I guess they're found hanging all over the place in South Africa. They stopped for a quick road side lunch one day, sandwiches at a convenience place.

Some, including emma-neez chose to sit outside in a gazebo type structure (top picture), as they settled in to eat their scrumptious meals, one of the guides pointed to the roof of where they were sitting and said ....just to let you know that those creatures above our heads are fruit bats!!! I think she took the picture and escaped. She said they looked to be about a foot long, the wing span can measure from wing tip to wing tip about 4 - 5 feet.

Hot on the bus & Kruger National Park

She took this picture of herself to show exactly how uncomfortably hot she was. She said this day they were really hot on the bus, which was suppose to be air conditioned, but with 100 degree temperatures the A/C wasn't kicking in and the bus was moving so slow that there was no air circulation.

The second picture she named "giraffe lovers' and the bottom one she named 'mother and child reunion'. Both pictures were taken on their safari ride through Kruger National Park.

See Emma Repel...

Well, this is her repelling down the side of a cliff that goes into the Indian Ocean!! She said it was pretty scary at first, but exciting too. I don't know if it scared the deodorant off of her as the website claims http://www.sealadventures.co.za/abseiling.htm but it looks pretty exhilarating.

Reminiscing

Well, now that she's been back for a few weeks, she spends time reminsicing about her trip. She's missing the 80+ temps. In the bottom picture, the background is Cape Town.
