Richard the bus driver!!!!

These pictures were taken while we were staying in Cape Town. Richard (our beloved bus driver) was driving us to the penguin colony and to the Cape of Good Hope. These scences were soooo beautiful in real life, and it was almost scary driving around the corners and cliffs at this point, but fun because I knew Richard knew what he was doing.

The top picture is of Emma and Richard - her caption for this pic is "Richard the bus driver and the sweetest guy on the trip".

And the stress continues!!!

Don't mean to sound so dramatic, but yeah, maybe that's what keeps me going....just everyday stress! HA!

The top photo.... the guy in my life was driving that car. He calls me from the hospital-- knowing it's on my caller ID - saying "It's me, don't worry, I'm ok......" I had to go and see him at the hospital and make sure he was ok. He's doing good, very shaken up, but doing good. I told him it 's a good thing he's a big sturdy guy.

The second pic, the damn cat was missing for two days and I was dealing with a grieving girl. Thank goodness the lil asshole came home tonight. He doesn't have any wounds or anything, he's de-balled so he wasn't gettin any...have no idea where he was. I told Emma maybe the neighbors were enjoying him the last few days, had him inside or something. Afterall, he's a very nice kitty cat.

Work was a little 'hairy' too this past week. I'm so lucky and fortunate I have a good boss! She's very understanding, supportive etc., could not ask for a better boss. I have great co-workers, student workers, and friends.

One other tid bit - - I'm relaxing with a great cross word puzzle the other night in my room, and my son comes into my bedroom......"Mom, I had a blow out with your car....spare was flat and had to drive it home on a flat" (5 miles). I'm like "F!!!!!" in my mind, but try my damndest to maintain composure as all good moms have to do. "Ok, I'm glad that you're ok, how's the tire?" "It's wrecked"!. Again, I thank the higher power that my son is home safe and that's all that matters.

Camps Bay South Africa

This is her first day at Camps Bay Beach in Cape Town SA! I'm sure she sprinted to that beach. The second shot is a tourism shot of the same beach from the other angle, but still very beautiful. And the third, shot is the beautiful, white sand.

A Beautiful Life....

This got me through today... Read it before I set out to "deal" with my day.

-------------------------------------------------------------
A Beautiful Life......

Love yourself.

MAKE PEACE with who you are

and where you are

at this moment in time.

Listen to your heart,

If you can't hear what it's saying in this noisy world.

MAKE TIME for yourself.

Enjoy your own company.

Let your mind wander among the stars.

Try.

Take chances.

MAKE MISTAKES.

Life can be messy

and confusing at times,

but it's also full of surprises.

The next rock in your path might be a stepping stone.

Be happy.

When you don't have what you want. Want what you have.

MAKE DO.

That's a well kept secret of contentment.

There aren't any shortcuts to tomorrow. You have to MAKE YOUR OWN WAY.

To know where you're going is only part of it.

You need to know where you've been, too.

And if you ever get lost, don't worry.

The people who love you will find you. Count on it.

Life isn't days and years.

It's what you do with time

and with all the goodness and grace that's inside you.

MAKE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.....The kind of life you deserve.

This was my birthday card from my parents, I keep it in a special place and read it when I need an emotional boost. Today was one of those days. Thanks mom and dad.

On top of the world....

She named this picture "on top of the world, looking down on creation". As you can probably tell, most of her pictures are named after a song. She's a music trivia buff.

It seems like since I've been back i'll look at all of my pictures and think to myself "wow it almost seems like I wasn't even there" which is sad, but I know and my family knows I was there. ha! So as I look at this picture I'm thinking we were on our way up to Table Top Mountain via The Cable Car. It was a pretty nice, windy ride up there, the bottom of the floor even rotated so that everyone could get a view all around them.
