Woodtick on his head!!!

I'm feeling reaally creepy right now! Cat's all crashed out on the recliner, so I went to pet him and felt the big lump on his head - right between his ears. And it's getting grey! I'll let his mom pick it off, she doesn't know it's there yet.

He looks pretty weird in the second picture - not sure what's going on there.

Orchid

One's looking at me and the other is looking out the window. There are many species of orchids, this is one of them. I have no idea what this particular orchid is called. But our botany students grew this one at work. I took this picture of it sitting in my office window! These are two separate flowers/two long stems on the same plant. This plant sat in the greenhouse pretty much ignored until someone dug it out and tended to it.

So, the view you see in the background is what I see everyday with the lake in the background. Some days I'll stand and just look out my office window and appreciate the beautifulness.

The road you see I walk along every morning on my way to my office. I think about the hustle and bustle of people on their way to work in the big cities, dealing with hoardes of people, cars and other traffic, crowding into elevators, breathing on each other.

Most mornings, I'm the only one in the elevator except for the occasional maintenance person doing his job checking that the elevator is working properly, enjoying the same peacefulness.

This is when I truly appreciate where I work. It is so peaceful.

Emma and Phil...or is it Norm??

Oh Man! so we were sitting at the Juans, Emma, Coleen, Teochen, and Chad, having a grand time of the girls playing darts and the boys playing Big Buck Hunter. I whipped out the camera and Coleen started taking pics. Here I was, thought Coleen was just taking a picture of me and it turns out it was a video and that's Chad creeping around in the background, he had no idea he was being filmed either.

Coleen thought Chad's name was Phil and he told her Norm just because he's obsessed with the name Norm, everytime an old codger would walk in he'd yell "Norm?" or maybe its a "you had to be there" moments.

AnyHoo it was a good time, a lot o' laughs were shared that nite!

Took these pics a few weeks ago of me and Vince. First pic he's like, ok I'll smile and cooperate, 2nd pic. he's still cooperating, the 3rd he's like ok now, that's enough. I think we were downloading songs and I distracted him to take pics.

We really do enjoy each others company. He just got back from Albuquerque, NM today, brought back a really cool sweat shirt for me. He M.C.'d a pow wow over the weekend and is heading back Thursday to MC the Gathering Of Nations next weekend.

Another Orville video in the snow

These are the first tracks he made this morning in the fresh snow. He landed just right in this video, then got a lot of practice after that. Ha.

Here's the video of Orville enjoying the fluffy stuff today. Funny cat, he didn't even resist or fight -- just let me throw him in the snow. I did it about 5 times too before I got a good enough video.

ORVILLE IN THE SNOW.

Here it is April 7, 2008 and we got majorly dumped on with 2 feet of snow! Last week we were enjoying the spring weather and sun. Sooo, we're snowed in today and everything is cancelled and shut down accept where I work! That's crap.

Have the feeling of being trapped and fighting off the feeling of needing to go somewhere because I know I can't. To amuse myself, I took the cat and threw him in the deep snow and videoed it. Pretty funny. Of course, it was impossible to put the video on here without practically signing my life away and all that, but here's a few pics.
